Launch of accessible Beacon platform
Lightcurb offers a platform for anybody to easily connect iBeacon tech with existing websites, webshops and other web enabled services. On July 18th Sneek will be debuted as the first city in the world to have massively installations of iBeacon technology paired with the Lightcurb app to give consumers a rich real context experience during their stay in the city.
"The organisations we work with show you how good Beacon technology and the new ways of interactivity work." After all, once a smartphone, or basically the Lightcurb app collects the signal of any iBeacon connected via the Lightcurb platform the user will experience all kinds of services by directly jumping to relevant webpages. The Lightcurb app ads al kinds of information through a push notification sent from other iBeacons around the place jumping to the relevant webpages at the moment you accept or want to use the specific notification. Generally this is the most common way we see iBeacon technology but what makes Lightcurb realy interesting is the ‘one app for all’ and ‘instant connection to existing webpages’ simplicity. With the launch Friday July 18th we will see that retailers will advertise Lightcurb that will offer location-based content and coupons within the participants actual stores, bringing immeasurable value to the retailers.
CEO Ate van der Meer states Lightcurb as an open platform that works on both iOS and Android and support all major brand iBeacons such as the much appreciated Estimote ones. A retailer will pay only three euros per month per iBeacon and the consumer can be forwarded. Lightcurb works directly with any desired site.
"I expect a lot of the platform because of its simplicity and low costs." Entrepreneurs that recognize the value of the hyper-local mobile interactions have a strong partner with the Snakeware-backed Lightcurb and other partners to ensure further development. Pilot Partners include Clothing companies, Giftshops, Financials, Realestate agencies, Musea, events and many more.
After the start in Sneek Friday July 18th Van der Meer is looking for further promotion. "There is great interest from abroad. We already have a partner in the Baltics and we have a solid partner in New York. "
